Last year, the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy reported that 1 in 5 teen girls have electronically sent or posted nude or semi-nude photos of themselves online.

Young people who send and receive naked pictures, even with someone they think they trust,  face serious and last consequences when these images slip out of their control and into the hands of almost anyone with an internet connection. The consequences of sexting can be serious and impact not only the people sending the pictures but the entire community.

hkupwithrespect and Young Voices want to learn more about why teens risk their cyberreputation  and how we work together to help friends choose healthy relationships on and off line. So, we surveyed 619 youth about sexting, relationships and how we encourage our friends to keep it respectful. Then we sat down with the girls to talk about what we found.
